Service Information
Janet Kilian, age 75, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Ecumen Pines in Hutchinson.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Janet Kay Kilian was born on July 14, 1949, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Eugene and Marjorie (Grant) Aune. Janet was baptized and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at First Lutheran Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. She received her education in Mankato, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Mankato High School Class of 1967.
On June 13, 1970, Janet united in marriage to Steven Kilian at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Mankato. This marriage was blessed with two children, Eric and Amy. Janet and Steve resided in Mankato until relocating to Hutchinson, Minnesota, in July 1975. They shared 48 years of marriage until the passing of Steve on March 25, 2019.
Janet was employed at Shopko in Hutchinson. She became a Real Estate Agent for Fahey Sales and later Edina Realty in Hutchinson. She retired in 2022. Janet was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
Janet enjoyed reading, playing bingo, and playing Keno at casinos. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Janet passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Ecumen Pines in Hutchinson, at the age of 75 years.

Daughter, Amy Kilian and her spouse, Sara of Waconia, MN;
Grandchildren, Rowan, Brenna, and Briley Kilian;
Sister, Patty Peasley of Hutchinson, MN;
Sisters-in-law, Karen Slipy of Mankato, MN,
Linda Groth and her spouse, Kenneth of Roseville, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.
Janet is preceded in death by her Parents, Eugene and Marjorie Aune; Husband, Steven Kilian.
