Janet Perschau

Obituary

Janet Martha Arlena Perschau was born on May 19, 1943, in Burtrum, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Elmer and Thusnelda “Toots” (Polzin) Alsleben. Janet was baptized as an infant on May 30, 1943, in Long Prairie, Minnesota, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on June 9, 1957, at Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota. She received her education in Brownton, and was a graduate of the Brownton High School Class of 1961.

On October 6, 1963, Janet was united in marriage to Ernest “Ernie” Perschau Jr. at Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton by Rev. E. Roesler. The couple made their home in rural Glencoe where they were engaged in farming. They shared 44 years of marriage together until Ernie passed away on September 26, 2008.

In her early years, Janet was employed as a bookkeeper for Schlauderaff Implement. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She played a vital role in assisting Ernie with the farming operations. Janet was a member of First Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota.

Janet and Ernie made many memories polka dancing and square dancing together. Janet enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing cards with her friends, and farming with her husband. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.

Janet passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Cedar Crest Estate in Silver Lake, Minnesota, at the age of 79 years.

Nephew, Randy Eggersgluess and his wife, Linda of Glencoe, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.

Janet is preceded in death by her Parents, Elmer and Thusnelda Alsleben; Husband, Ernest Perschau Jr.; Infant Son; Granddaughter, Sawyer Perschau.
