Janet Zeiss formerly known as Korngiebel & Ziese

Obituary

Janet Jean Zeiss was born on August 6, 1937, in New Ulm, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Gilbert and Myrtle (Schroeder) Zeise. Janet was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth by Reverend R. W. Koepp at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. She attended Parochial School in Brownton and was a graduate of the Brownton High School Class of 1955.

On December 21, 1957, Janet was united in marriage to John Korngiebel at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. This marriage was blessed with two children, Mark and Leslie. Janet and John resided in Minneapolis on Franklin Avenue, Hopkins, and later moved to Hutchinson in 1970.

Janet was first employed at 3M in the magnetic plant in Hutchinson. When Janet moved to Minneapolis, she became employed at Honeywell for several years. Janet then worked in direct sales with Morinda International selling health products. She was very successful in this business and traveled to many places, the most notable being Tahiti.

Janet and John were members of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Hopkins. When Janet moved to Hutchinson, she became a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Her spirituality was a very important part of her life.

Janet enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, ballroom dancing in the 90’s, singing with the Sweet Adeline’s, golfing, downhill skiing and boating. She also enjoyed ladies night at the golf club where she played a good card game of 500. Janet was an avid sports fan for all Minnesota sports teams. In addition, she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

When Janet needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident at The Lodge Assisted Living in Howard Lake, Minnesota. She then moved to the Birchwood House in Hutchinson where she made her transition there on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at the age of 80 years.

Janet is preceded in death by her Parents, Gilbert and Myrtle Zeise and Brother, Gale Zeise.
