Janice F. Kuphal

Obituary

Janice Florene Kuphal was born on August 13, 1933, in Nicollet County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of John Arnold and Florence (Lewellen) Monson. Janice was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 11, 1947, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lafayette, Minnesota. She received her elementary education at country school near Bernadotte, Nicollet County, Minnesota, and furthered her education through the middle of her freshman year at Gaylord High School.

On November 20, 1948, Janice was united in marriage to Marvin Kuphal in Alfsborg Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with four children, Barb, Betty, Gary, and Greg. Janice and Marvin resided in the Gaylord area and they shared over 72 years of marriage together.

Janice was employed as a school bus driver in Gaylord for many years. She also had other various jobs that included doing daycare, cleaning houses, and farming. Janice was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord.

Janice enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, cutting the lawn, and spending time outside. She also enjoyed playing cards and most importantly spending time with family and friends.

Janice passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord at the age of 88 years.

Son, Greg Kuphal of Gaylord, MN, and his children, Kevin Kuphal and his wife, Crystal, Tracy Strand and her husband, Levi,
Tim Kuphal and his wife, Jenna;
29 Great Grandchildren;
Sisters, Fay Ulrich of Clearbrook, MN, Cecelia Eliason of Willmar, MN;
