Jean Erickson

Obituary

Jean Elizabeth Erickson was born on August 10, 1938, in Pipestone, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Orville and Alberta (Dew) Cleaveland. Jean received her education in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
On May 6, 1955, Jean was united in marriage to Kenneth “Ken” Erickson in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with five children, Kevin, Kurt, Patti, Kenny, and Terry. Jean and Ken resided in Grand Rapids, Minnesota before moving to Butte, Montana. Following Ken’s employment, they moved to Iron River, Michigan. In 1962, Jean and Ken moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, and in 1964 they made their home in Hutchinson, Minnesota. They shared 61 years of marriage until the passing of Ken on January 13, 2017.
In addition to being a loving mother and wife, Jean was a wonderful homemaker.
Jean enjoyed going to auctions, antiquing, gambling, and shopping. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, cleaning and having coffee with friends. Christmas was her favorite holiday, she loved spoiling her family. Jean cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In February of 2018, Jean was diagnosed with a stage 4 brain tumor, glioblastoma. On July of 2018, she entered Hospice care, which helped her remain home until she became a resident of Harmony River Living Center on May 3, 2018. Jean passed away there on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at the age of 80 years. Blessed be her memory.

Great-Grandchildren, Lexi Markgraf and her husband, Logan, Payton Norsworthy, Kaiden Kevin, Billy Erickson, Chance Erickson, Della Tulp, and Konnor Soppeland;
Great-Great-Grandchildren, Bralyn and Easton;
Sister, Joanne Yurrick and her husband, John of Grand Rapids, MN;
Brothers, Michael Cleaveland and his wife, Terri of Maple Grove, MN, and John Cleaveland and his wife, Lora of Elk River, MN;
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her Parents, Orville and Alberta Cleaveland; Husband, Kenneth Erickson; Sons, Kurtiss Erickson and Kevin Erickson; Sisters, Berta Hachey and Linda Cleaveland in infancy.
