Jeanette L. Brinkman

Obituary

Jeanette Lydia Brinkman was born on September 11, 1931, in Glencoe, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Albert Sr. and Ella (Tanke) Gruenhagen. Jeanette was baptized as an infant on September 20, 1931, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg, Minnesota, by Reverend Bauman. She was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 25, 1945, by Pastor A. C. Streufert at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. Jeanette received her elementary education at First Evangelical Lutheran School and was a graduate of the Glencoe High School class of 1949.

Jeanette was united in marriage to Earl Brinkman on September 20, 1953, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe by Reverend A. H. Fellwock. Their marriage was blessed with one daughter, Julie.  Jeanette and Earl shared 54 years of marriage until Earl passed away in 2007.

Jeanette and Earl made their home in rural Glencoe, Minnesota. When they retired from farming, they moved into the town of Glencoe. Jeanette and Earl were charter members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church which formed in 1960. Jeanette had a strong faith and was very involved at her church. She was a member of the Ladies Guild and served as past president.  Jeanette was employed at Supervalu for about 50 years where she remained until she retired.

Jeanette cherished the time she spent with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. She was best known as “Grandma Crackers” by her great-grandchildren. Jeanette enjoyed reading and baking….desserts were her specialty. She loved to listen to old-time music and dance when she was able to.

When Jeanette needed assistance with her daily care, she entered Grand Meadows Senior Living in November 2017. Jeanette passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Glencoe Regional Health Services at the age of 90 years old. Blessed be her memory.

Brothers, Donald Gruenhagen and  his wife, Jean of Glencoe, MN, Albert Gruenhagen Jr. and his wife, Linda of Glencoe, MN;
Sisters-in-law, Arlaine Farber of Annandale, MN, Lorna Brinkman of Glencoe, MN.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her Parents, Albert Sr. and Ella Gruenhagen; Husband, Earl Brinkman;  Brothers, Orville Gruenhagen and his wife, Geraldine, Kenneth Gruenhagen and his wife, Helen; Sister, Carol Gruenhagen; Sisters-in-law, Jan Gruenhagen, Carol Axt and her husband, Darwin; Brothers-in-law, Walter Farber, Leon Brinkman.
