John was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as a Grand Knight. He was also a proud member of AA for over 53 years.
John enjoyed reading western books and playing cards. John and Bernie loved to go polka dancing and they were a part of the Polka Lovers Club and the PlaMor Dancers. You forgot to mention the amazing bus driver he was in “Glenview Woods”. He waited for me and my siblings more than he should have, but always greeted us with the biggest, fattest and friendliest smile around. He was a great guy. I also remember him being at a few pancake breakfasts at St. Pius X school. What a wonderful human. I’m sorry for loss- no doubt he has a straight shot to heaven!
Sincerely,
The Bump Family

To the Griep family-
I am very sorry to hear about John’s passing. I have such fond memories of him as my bus driver. He was always cheerful and so kind to everyone. He was very patient and would always wait at the end of our driveway until we came out running to catch the bus. He was the best bus driver!
Thoughts and prayers to the entire family.

Dear Bernie,
Our sympathy to you and your entire family. We have very fond memories of both you and John. You were always such a striking couple. Almost 73 years of marriage is just amazing. John was especially nice, very polite, and always looked so nice. I just read of his passing. Harvey and I live in Young America, and unfortunately we wouldn’t have been able to pay our last respects due to some health issues at the present time. So, I am glad I can connect with you in this manner. May God grant you the peace that passes all human understanding.
