Service Information
Joyce M. Johnson, age 89, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Oak Heights Covenant Church in Hutchinson, with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Joyce Marilyn Johnson was born on December 28, 1935, in Dassel, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Hjalmer and Mabel (Johnson) Gustafson. Joyce was baptized as an infant at Little Swan Lake Covenant Church in rural Dassel, Minnesota, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Oak Heights Covenant Church in Hutchinson. She received her education in Dassel, and was a graduate of the Dassel High School Class of 1953.
On September 7, 1957, Joyce was united in marriage to Leslie Ray Johnson at Dassel Covenant Church in Dassel. Following their marriage, Joyce and Leslie lived in Pine River until 1960, when they moved to Hutchinson. They also resided in New Mexico for four years, before returning to make their home in Hutchinson in 2000. Joyce and Leslie shared 45 years of marriage prior to the passing of Leslie on January 3, 2003.
Joyce was employed at Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing (3M) in Hutchinson for 32 years. She retired in 1989. Joyce was a member of Oak Heights Covenant Church in Hutchinson.
Joyce enjoyed flowers, bird watching, and reading. She liked to travel and climbing the mountains in Colorado. Joyce also had an extensive knick-knack collection that she took great pride in. She cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Joyce passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, at the age of 89 years.

Joyce is survived by many Nieces and Nephews, Great-Nieces and Nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Joyce is preceded in death by her Parents, Hjalmer and Mabel Gustafson; Husband, Leslie Johnson; Siblings, Betty Weirauch, Darlene Rumsey, Richard Gustafson, Kenneth Gustafson, Shirley Paulson, Marge Vap, Dennis Gustafson, Marlyn Gustafson, Ronald Gustafson.

I miss you already Aunt Joyce…I am so glad that we got reconnected after so many years. Thanks for teaching me how to play dominoes! I know you got a little mad that I beat you a few times, but I had a good teacher! Turned out though that my lucky streak came to an end, and you really kicked me in the pants! You are going out a winner dear lady…. know I truly loved you!
