Julie McNellis, age 67, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2019, 11:30 A.M. at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment in the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery in Glencoe, Minensota.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2019, from 9:00-11:30 A.M., 2-1/2 hours prior the service at the church.
Obituary
Julie Ann (Zarnott) McNellis was born on August 8, 1951, in Gaylord, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Willard and Mary (Selle) Zarnott. Julie was baptized as an infant on August 26, 1951, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 23, 1965, both at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord, Minnesota. She received her education in Gaylord, Minnesota, graduating with the Gaylord High School Class of 1969. Julie furthered her education by attending two years at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud and Minnesota State University in Mankato.
On September 15, 1994, Julie was united in marriage to Sam McNellis at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. Julie and Sam made their home in Glencoe and were blessed with a daughter Erin. In addition, Julie was a wonderful mother to Jess, Benjamin and Mason Wibstad. Julie and Sam shared the love of these children for over 24 years of marriage.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Julie worked at Telex for 15 years, Cummins and Donaldson’s Filtration as a purchaser/buyer. She was an active member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Glencoe, where she served as treasurer, worked at the bake sales and taught Sunday school.
Julie was a very energetic and involved grandma. She was faithfully involved with her grandchildren, and cheered them on at their sporting events, performances, and activities. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, shopping, sewing, walking, biking, yearly garage sales and going up north. Julie cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
Julie passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 67 years, 5 months and 9 days. Blessed be her memory.
