Obituary

Katherine “Kathy” Ann (Lang) Scholla was born on July 14, 1942, in Winfield Township, Renville County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Frank and Mabel (McDowell) Lang. Kathy was baptized and confirmed on June 7, 1957, by Reverend Anton H. Chell, at First Lutheran Church in Olivia, Minnesota. She received her education in Olivia.

On June 24, 1961, Kathy was united in marriage to Leonard “Len” Scholla at First Lutheran Church in Olivia, Minnesota. After their marriage the couple resided in Gibbon for four years and then they moved to Gaylord. Kathy and Lenny were blessed with three children. They shared 60 years of marriage when Len passed away on August 20, 2021.

Kathy was employed as a seamstress at Fingerhut in Gaylord for 20 years. She owned and operated Kathy’s Tanning Studio for 13 years, until she retired for medical reasons.

Kathy was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord, and served on the church council. She was also a member of the Mrs. Jaycees.

Kathy enjoyed crafts, embroidering, puzzles. She and Len enjoyed going on cruises and traveling to Branson, Las Vegas and Aruba. Kathy especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

Siblings, Samuel Lang and his wife, Lila of Fosston, MN, Bob Lang and his wife, Mary of Rosemount, MN, Arthur Lang and his wife, Margaret of Spicer, MN, Eugene Lang of Anoka, MN, LeRoy Lang and his special friend, Kathy Kruggel of Winthrop, MN, and David Lang and his wife, Lori of Danube, MN;
Many Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her Parents, Frank and Mabel Lang; Husband, Leonard Scholla; Siblings, Lillian Bratsch and her husband, Myron, Harvey Lang, Nina Serbus and her husband, Richard, Leona Johnson and her husband, Mryon, Esther Hanson and her husband, Vincent, Alice Pederson and her husband, Lloyd.
