Kathryn A. Froemming, age 93, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Woodstone Senior Living in Hutchinson.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Hunters Ridge Community Church in Hutchinson, with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Kathryn Alvera Froemming was born on January 5, 1932, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Reuben and Stella (May) Fratzke. Kathryn committed her life to Jesus at age 12 and was baptized shortly thereafter at Northside Baptist Church in Hutchinson. She received her education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1949. Kathryn furthered her education at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota with an Associate’s degree in 1951.
On November 21, 1952, Kathryn was united in marriage to Walter C. Froemming Jr. while he was on his first furlough in the Army, at Evangelical United Bethlehem Methodist Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with four children, Linda, Debbie, Joel, and Jonathan. Kathryn and Walter resided in Brownton, Litchfield, and Hutchinson during their 71 years of marriage prior to the passing of Walter on August 11, 2024.
Kathryn and Walter farmed with Walter’s parents near Lake Hook, after Walter returned from his military service. She was employed as a teacher by various schools in different locations (Elementary and Adult education). Kathryn retired in 1976. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Hutchinson until 1997. Kathryn joined Cornerstone Church in 1998 in Litchfield, while residing at Lake Minniebelle. In 2019, she moved back to Hutchinson and became a member of Hunters Ridge Community church. Over the years her church involvement included: Sunday School teacher, Sunday School superintendent, Christian Women’s club. Singing in choirs, duets, trios, quartets and solos were special for her.
Kathryn enjoyed crafting, embroidery, collecting bells, gardening, Bible studies, puzzles and writing poetry. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
God has been her fortress. God and her beloved husband, Walter, have been her greatest blessings along with all her family. To God be the glory.
Kathryn passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Woodstone Senior Living in Hutchinson, at the age of 93 years.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her Parents, Reuben and Stella Fratzke; Husband, Walter Froemming Jr.; Brother, Ronald Fratzke and his wife, Verona; Brother-in-law, Sheldon Miller.
Our family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. We would also like to thank the staff at Woodstone Senior Living facility and the Hospice team that so lovingly took care of Mom during her last months of life.
