Kenneth “Kenny” Adams

Obituary

Kenneth Orest Adams was born on April 18, 1937, at his home in Bergen Township, Minnesota. He was the son of Orest F. and Leatha (Packer) Adams. Kenneth was baptized on February 9, 1945, by A.F. Vomhof, and later confirmed in his faith as a youth on May 28, 1950, by Wm. L. Erb, both at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in rural Lester Prairie. He received his education at St. Peter’s Lutheran Parochial school in rural Lester Prairie and country school.  Kenneth graduated with the Lester Prairie High School class of 1954.

Kenneth entered active military service in the United States Army on August 19, 1954, in Glencoe, Minnesota, and served his country in Germany and California. He received an Honorable Discharge on August 18, 1956, at Fort Ord, California, and achieved the rank of CPL (T).

On September 26, 1959, Kenneth was united in marriage to Virginia Skorpik by H.A. Bode at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with two daughters, Linda and Sandy. Kenneth and Virginia resided in Glencoe for many years. They shared 61 years of marriage.

Kenneth was employed at Milwaukee Railroad for 10 years. He was then employed at Green Giant for 20 years.  Kenneth was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.  He was also a member of the Glencoe VFW Post #5102.

He enjoyed fishing for sunfish in the summer, ice fishing, hunting for deer and duck, and being with his family and friends. Kenneth especially enjoyed spending time at Big Sauk Lake by Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Kenneth passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, Minnesota, at the age of 83 years.
