Kevin Erickson, age 62, of Darwin, Minnesota, Husband of Terrie, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018, as a result of an automobile accident.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, May 31, 2018, 11:00 A.M., at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2018, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Military Honors by the Hutchinson Memorial Rifle Squad.
Obituary
Kevin Scott Erickson was born on September 19, 1955, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He was the son of Kenneth and Jean (Cleaveland) Erickson. Kevin was baptized as an infant at Suomi Lutheran Church in Marcell, Minnesota, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at First Congregational Church in Hutchinson. He received his education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1974. Kevin furthered his education at the Hutchinson Vocational School (now Ridgewater College) and received his Welding and Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Degree.
Kevin entered active military service in the United States Army on June 27, 1975, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and served his country during Peace Time. He received an Honorable Discharge on June 17, 1977, at Fort Dix, New Jersey, and achieved the rank of Specialist (SP4).
Kevin was blessed with one daughter, Andrea.
On March 19, 1996, Kevin was united in marriage to Terrie Hedtke in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kevin and Terrie resided in the Hutchinson area and shared 22 years of marriage.
Kevin owned and operated Erickson Auto in Hutchinson for many years. Kevin was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton and also attended All Saints Lutheran Church in Darwin. He was also a member of the American Legion Hutchinson Legion Post 96 and the Hutchinson Elks Lodge #2427.
Kevin enjoyed fishing in a boat, ice fishing, and playing the card game Texas hold’em. He also enjoyed going out to eat with his friends and attending family gatherings. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Kevin passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018, as a result of an automobile accident, at the age of 62 years. Blessed be his memory.

Baby Grandson due in June of 2018;

Siblings, Patti Lenz and friend, Simon, of Hutchinson, MN,
Kenny Erickson and his wife, Celia, of Fort Myers, FL,
Terry Erickson of Deer River, MN;
Mother and Father-In-Law, LeRoy and Rosie Hedtke of Stewart, MN;
Brother-In-Law, Todd Hedtke of Stewart, MN;
Special Friends, Kent and Renee Glessing of Hutchinson, MN;
Many Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
Kevin is preceded in death by his: Father, Kenneth Erickson; Brother, Kurtiss Erickson; and Grandparents, Orville and Alberta Cleaveland and Hjalmer and Gertrude Erickson.
