Jansick family, our deepest sympathies as you navigate this difficult time. It was always a pleasure to run into Kevin either at the golf club or around town. You had no idea where the conversation would go or what the topic would be, but nearly every time you walked away laughing with a smile on your face. He was truly one of a kind and he will be dearly missed. Cherish the memories and prayers for you all.

Kevin was such a bright light. He was a friend to everyone he met. He was a “HUGGER” and to know that I will never get another “Jim” hug is devastating. Kevin lived every day with a smile and a zest for life that few experience. To say he will be missed is understated. He will be loved forever by so many, he will remain in our hearts and thought. Our love and prayers to the entire Jansick family.

He spread positive energy and love to all, and I will always remember my days as his colleague at Ogilvy in Chicago fondly. He took good care of his people and I’m hopeful that your family and all of his close friends still feel that.

I can hear his laugh and see the face he made while laughing really hard.
I remember his blatant disregard for naysayers.
And the year he was a new student at HMS-we were so excited to have a new friend from COLORADO!
He had a creative twinkle in his eye that could often (and sometimes rightly so!) be mistaken for a little mischief.
He was always game for a little adventure and a supportive person on your team.

I met Kevin in 2012 when he was branching out from his Minnesota roots to interview for his first job in Chicago at Ogilvy. He was both humble and full of energy and passion. He even admitted to me as he sat in front of me for his interview a bit nervous and confessed this trip to Chicago had been the first time he was on an airplane without his parents. His ability to be vulnerable and authentic warmed my heart and captured my attention. He wasn’t a conventional choice for my team, but I absolutely love misfits and channeling their intensity and unique way of looking at things and putting that to work. Kevin proved to be one of my best hires and thrived working on my team. I loved jamming with him on new ideas and would throw him into all different kinds of projects and he would jump in fully to push, learn, turn things upside down…and then pull everything together. And, if we couldn’t crack the problem, I enjoyed heading over to a local bar to figure things out over a good whiskey cocktail. Work never seemed like work with Kevin. It was more of a playground for ideas and having good friends around you to make you better. I don’t keep in touch with many people from my 30+ years in advertising, but Kevin was someone I would always check in with throughout his career. I remember one time when he decided to drive alone across the country to have some alone time and to “figure out life.” He was a deep thinker and was always looking for meaning and connection. We had a great long conversation and I loved Kevin’s ability to rise above all noise and nonsense of life to find what really matters. He always spoke so fondly of his parents and would bring them into our conversations. He attributed a lot of his creativity to his mom who was always doing crafts and making things. He loved going ice fishing and hunting with friends and family and had a strong connection to Minnesota and his foundational roots. We were talking, texting and working on a project together right up until he left this world. It breaks my heart that he is gone and I won’t be able to have our soulful chats and creative jam sessions. Kevin is unlike any other human I know and he will be missed. I only hope to tap into his energy and spirit and to feel him close to us on the other side rooting for us all and lovingly teasing us and inspiring us along the way. One of the good ones left us way too soon but we are all better for having Kevin in our lives.

Kev’s family – I am so sorry. I’m reeling from this news.

Kev was my boss very recently at Version1. When he and I were both laid off – he was texting me check ins up until last Thursday. It’s unreal to think he’s gone.

He and I spent a lot of time chatting over the months – and I know how much he *loved* his dog Duke. This probably isn’t needed – but if you need a home for Duke, my folks have a hobby/pheasant farm that he’s welcome on.

May Kev’s memory forever be a blessing.
