LaDonna Totman

Obituary

LaDonna Marie Totman was born on July 24, 1933, in Mapleton, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Anthony and Ruth (Reinhart) LeBrun. LaDonna was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Mapleton into the seventh grade. The family then moved to Winthrop, Minnesota, where they had purchased a farm. Donna was a graduate of the Winthrop High School Class of 1951.

On October 29, 1952, LaDonna married her neighbor and childhood sweetheart, Darwin (Darv) Totman at the United States Air Force Base Chapel in Bryan, Texas, where he was stationed. LaDonna and Darv shared 50 years of marriage, when Darv passed away on February 6, 2003.

New Auburn, Minnesota, is where the family called home. LaDonna was a stay-at-home mom for their six children for 15 years. She worked at 3M in Hutchinson for 24 years, retiring early. Then LaDonna and Darv moved to a lake home North of Brainerd, Minnesota, then to Pine River, Minnesota. After Darv passed, LaDonna sold their home and moved back to New Auburn. In 2014, she could no longer live alone, she moved to Oak Terrace Senior Living in Gaylord until her death.

LaDonna was an active and life time member in Post 3839 VFW Auxiliary in Jenkins, Minnesota, acting as Auxiliary President for seven years, Chaplain for two years, secretary for two years and Sr. Vice President for one year.

LaDonna had many interests and hobbies, reading, writing long letters, gardening, puzzles, crocheting, knitting, crossword puzzles and embroidering. She loved eating out as much as possible, especially Red Lobster. LaDonna cherished the time she spent with her family.

When she needed assistance with her daily care, LaDonna became a resident of Oak Terrace Health Care Center, Assisted Living, and passed away there on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at the age of 87 years. Blessed be her memory.

Siblings, Francis LeBrun, Richard (Cindy) LeBrun, Phyllis LeBrun, JoAnn (Totman) Martinez, and Jill Totman;
Nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

LaDonna was preceded in death by her Parents, Tony and Ruth LeBrun; Husband, Darwin L. Totman Sr.; Brother, Roger LeBrun; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law; three Brothers-in-law; three Sisters-in-law; and two Nephews.
