Larry Arthur Beneke

Obituary

Larry Arthur Beneke was born on February 14, 1939, in Hamburg, Minnesota.  He was the son of Arthur and Emma (Thalmann) Beneke.  Larry was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith at Emanuel Lutheran Church.  He attended parochial school also at Emanuel Lutheran School and later graduated from Glencoe High School with the Class of 1957.

On November 19, 1966, Larry was united in marriage to Marjorie Tack. The couple made their home in Waconia, Minnesota and in 1967 built a home in Hamburg where they raised their two daughters, Carolyn and Julie.  Larry and Marjorie shared nearly 30 years of marriage before she passed away on September 9, 1996.

Larry worked as a machinist for the Roberts Automatic Products in Chanhassen, Minnesota for 32 years.  He was also a faithful member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg until he moved north to their home on the lake.  Larry was charter member of the Hamburg Lions Club.

Larry was a generous man who would often use his great cooking skills to make things to share with his friends.  He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and playing cards.  Larry’s loved ones are sure he owns every tool known to man so he would always be ready to lend a helping hand to his neighbors, his extended family.

Larry passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota, at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 10 days.

Nieces, Nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his Parents, Arthur and Emma Beneke; Wife, Marjorie Beneke; Brother, Frederick “Fritz” Beneke and his wife, Marlene; Brother-in-law, Dean Utterberg; Sister-in-law, June Tack.
