Service Information

Larry Rosenau, age 66, of Stewart, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 16, 2016, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart.

Interment will be held in the Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 15, 2016, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Stewart, and will continue on Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 9:00 A.M., for one hour prior to the service.

Obituary

Larry Robert Rosenau was born August 22, 1950, in the Loretto Hospital in New Ulm, Minnesota, the son of Emil and Florence (Dommer) Rosenau. He was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm, and confirmed in his faith at Grace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. He grew up in Hutchinson where he received his education.

On February 20, 1971, Larry was united in marriage to Barbara Forcier at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart. They made their home in Hutchinson and Stewart, and were blessed with two children, Jamey and Jennifer. They shared 45 years of marriage.

Larry was a truck driver for many years. He drove for Daniel’s Trucking, Stark, Kottke Trucking, Olinger Trucking, and Terry Ahlbrecht. He retired in 1991.

Larry was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart. He enjoyed going fishing, gardening, canning, and cooking. He liked to play cards and go to Jackpot Junction. Larry was an avid collector of everything. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

On Sunday, December 11, 2016, Larry passed away at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, having reached the age of 66 years. Blessed be his memory.

Larry is survived by his:

Wife, Barbara Rosenau, of Stewart, Minnesota;

Son, Jamey Rosenau and his wife Lisa, of Hutchinson;

Daughter, Jennifer Schmidt and her husband, Brent, of Hutchinson;

Grandchildren: Dylan and McKenna Rosenau, and Evan and Ariah Schmidt;

Siblings: Ronald Rosenau (Violet) of Cosmos, Vernon Rosenau (Betty) of New Ulm,

Carol Kiecker (Gene) of Fairfax, Gene Rosenau (Alice) of New Ulm, Diane Christensen of Cosmos, Emil Rosenau Jr. (Marlys) of New Ulm, Marilyn Alsleben (Arden) of Brownton, Dennis Rosenau (Deb) of Atwater;

Sisters-in-law, Joleen Rosenau of Winthrop, and Lynette Rosenau of Lester Prairie;

nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his Parents, Emil and Florence Rosenau; Grandparents, Henry and Elsie Rosenau, and Daniel and Katherine Dommer; and by his Brothers, Melvin Rosenau and David Rosenau.
