Larry “Slinger” Kuehl

Obituary

Larry “Slinger” Marvin Kuehl was born on February 13, 1952, in Gaylord, Minnesota. He was the son of Marvin and Luella (Sylvester) Kuehl. Larry was baptized as an infant in 1952, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on April 4, 1966, both at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Auburn. He received his education in Glencoe and was a graduate of the Glencoe High School Class of 1970.

On May 18, 1970, Larry enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He was Honorably Discharged on April 11, 1974. Larry enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve in January of 1976 and was Honorably Discharged on April 21, 1978. He then enlisted in the Army Reserves on April 21, 1978 and was Honorably Discharged in February 1985. Larry enlisted in the Air Force Reserves in February of 1985 and was Honorably Discharged on April 11, 1996. He was officially Retired!

Larry was employed as a fork lift operator at 3M in Hutchinson for 24 years.

Larry was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Auburn, the New Auburn Fire Department and the New Auburn VFW Post #7266.

Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, gun collecting, camping and motorcycling. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Larry passed away at his home in New Auburn on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at the age of 67 years. Blessed be his memory.

                        Candice Link and her special friend, Andrew Lieffring of Dassel, MN;
Grandchildren, Jude Link, Tate Link, Ava Miller, Brayden Miller, Colten Miller;
Step Grandchildren, Lydia and Ethan;
Sister, Betty Ann Ewert and her husband, Harry of Arlington, MN;
Brother, Myron Kuehl and his fianceé, LuAnn Meyer of New Auburn, MN;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his Parents, Marvin and Luella Kuehl; Grandparents, William and Emma Kuehl and Arthur and Viola Sylvester; Aunts and Uncles, Clarence and Elfina Kuehl and Maynard and Lorraine Ostermann; Cousins, Lynell Kuehl and DiAnn Radoush.
