Service Information
LaVonne “Lovey” Joyce Deal, age 91, of Buffalo Lake, formerly of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
Funeral Service will be Monday, February 9, 2026, 11:00 A.M. at Dobratz Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, with interment in Oakland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M., two hours prior to the service at the chapel.
Memorials preferred to Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center and Allina Hospice in Hutchinson.
Obituary
LaVonne “Lovey” Joyce Deal was born on April 28, 1934, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Alfred and Meta (Borchert) Mead. Lovey was baptized as an infant on May 26, 1934, at the home of her parents, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 30, 1947 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. She received her education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1952.
On October 16, 1952, Lovey was united in marriage to Robert Deal at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills Township, Meeker County, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with five children, Peg, Ricky, Keith, Gayle, and Karen. Lovey and Robert resided in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota, and later moved to Hutchinson in 1985. Lovey and Robert shared 56 years of marriage until Robert passed away in 2008.
Lovey worked at S&L department store and the Hutch Theater after graduating High School. She was later employed as a machine operator at 3M in Hutchinson. She retired in 1994.
Lovey enjoyed fishing, jigsaw puzzles, and flowers. She cherished the two houseboat vacations she went on with family and enjoyed taking trips to Branson, Missouri, Apache Junction, Arizona, and Hawaii. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Lovey passed away on February 5, 2026, at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center at the age of 91 years.

30 Great Grandchildren;
1 Great-Great-Grandson;
Many other relatives and friends.
Lovey is preceded in death by her Parents, Alfred and Meta Mead; Husband, Robert Deal; Brother, Kenneth Mead; Sister, LeAnn Landkammer; Brother-in-Law, Loren Landkammer; and her Parents-in-Law, Carlton and Edith Deal.
