Service Information

Lee Jacobson, age 79, of Gaylord passed away Monday, January 15, 2018, at his home in Gaylord.

Funeral Service will be Friday, January 19, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mountville, Dryden Township, Sibley County, Minnesota, 23677 491st Ave., Gaylord; with interment in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 18, 2018, from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Obituary

Lee Thomas “Jake” Jacobson was born on January 29, 1938, in Winthrop, Minnesota. He was the son of Lloyd B. and Beulah (Johnson) Jacobson. Lee was baptized as an infant at the Winthrop Methodist Church and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at the Arlington Methodist Church in 1951. He received his education in Arlington and was a graduate of the Arlington High School Class of 1956. Following high school he worked for Les Pinske Construction and Arlington Concrete Products. He attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis in 1959.

On June 27, 1957, Lee was united in marriage to Beverly Winter at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington which he later joined. In 1965, he started his own business, Lee Jacobson Construction in Gaylord; a business that continued until 2008. They were blessed with two sons. Lee and Beverly shared 57 years of marriage before Beverly passed away on March 15, 2014.

He was a member of the United States Army Reserves from 1957 through 1963.

Lee was a storyteller, very social, and his attention to detail was meticulous. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings and the Gophers and following his grandchildren in sports. Lee loved to travel, mostly in the United States. He was a wonderful caregiver to his wife, Bev during her illness. Lee cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.

Lee passed away at his home in Gaylord on January 15, 2018, at the age of 79 years. Blessed be his memory.

Lee is survived by his:
Sons,   Tom Jacobson and his wife, Janet of Woodbury, MN, and Tim Jacobson and his wife, Sandy of Lakeville, MN;
Grandchildren, Meghan and Molly Jacobson of Woodbury, MN, and Mikayla and Cole Jacobson of Lakeville, MN;
Siblings, Patricia Voigt of Arlington, MN, Bruce Jacobson of Buffalo, MN, Ruth Voight of Arlington, MN, and Nancy Krentz of Arlington, MN;
Other relatives and friends.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Beulah Jacobson; Wife, Beverly Jacobson; Siblings, Loyd Jacobson; and Mother-In-Law, Laverna Shaw.

    My prayers to all the family of Lee. So sorry for your loss. There are many good times/memories with all the Jacobson Families. Our Dads worked together at the cement plant. So our memories go back for many years. rip LEE.
