Leona Helen Kuhlmann

Obituary

Leona Helen Kuhlmann was born on February 2, 1940, in Meeker County, Minnesota.  She was the daughter of William and Mary (Peltz) Schmidt.  She received her education in a country school. 

On July 20, 1963, Leona married LeRoy Rotzien in Hutchinson, Minnesota.  They lived first in Hutchinson and later moved to Silver Lake and Glencoe.  Their marriage was blessed with five children, Heidi, Vonnie, Eldred, Georgia Ann and Sadie.  On February 11, 1994, Leona married Kenneth Kuhlmann in New Auburn, Minnesota, where they made their home.

Leona began working as a waitress when she was young and through the years worked for various places including, 3M, Hands Corporation in Winthrop, Young America Corp, ADC Telecommunications in LeSueur, Sibley East School in Gaylord and the Country Convenience Store in New Auburn. 

It could be said that there was nothing that Leona didn’t like, though one of her greatest joys were her dear pets.  She also enjoyed ceramics and shopping at Thrift Stores looking for a great deal.  Leona appreciated the time she had with those she loved.

Leona passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at her home in New Auburn, Minnesota, at the age of 77 years and 10 days.

Great Grandchildren, Lola and Jozie Bremer;
Step Daughter, Christine Nelsen and her husband, Doug, of Big Bear Lake, CA;
Sister, Bernice Hall and her husband, Earl, of Hutchinson, MN;
Brother, John Schmidt and his wife, Sharon, of Hutchinson, MN;
Many Nieces, Nephews, Other relatives and friends.

Leona is preceded in death by her Parents, William and Mary Schmidt; Husband, Kenneth Kuhlmann, Sister, Irene Seefeldt and her husband, Harvey.
