Service Information
Leonard A. Lange, age 82, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Grand Meadows Senior Living in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, rural Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 10:00-11:00 A.M., one hour prior to the service, at the church.
Military Honors by the Glencoe Military Honor Guard.
Memorials preferred to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Helen Township, or the Alzheimer's Association of Minnesota.
The service will be live-streamed on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. on the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Facebook page.
Obituary
Leonard Arnold Lange was born December 2, 1940, in Glencoe to Arnold and Esther (Luehrs) Lange. He was baptized on December 22, 1940, by Rev. A.J. Dysterheft at St John’s Lutheran Church of Helen Township at Glencoe and confirmed there on May 23, 1954, by Rev. Karl J. Plocher. He attended St. John’s Lutheran Parochial School through 8th grade and Arlington High School graduating in 1958.
Leonard entered active military service in the US Army in January 1959 and was stationed in Fort Sill, OK, and Hanau, Germany, and entered the Army Reserve until his honorable discharge in 1964. Leonard was a lifetime member of Glencoe VFW Post 5102.
On June 27, 1964, he was united in marriage to Ruth Ehrke at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at Lester Prairie by Rev. Wolfgang M. Webern. The couple lived near Glencoe. Their marriage was blessed with three daughters, Amy, Lory, and Beth. The couple shared 56 years of marriage together until Ruth passed away on November 13, 2020.
Leonard was employed at 3M in Hutchinson for 29 years, retiring in 1997. He was an active member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Helen Township, rural Glencoe. He served the church as Vice President of the Church Council and involved in church building and property committees throughout the years.

Lory (Mark) Ratliff of Commerce Township, MI,
Beth (Scott) Wilson of Eatonton, GA;
Seven Grandchildren, Alexa and Sam Goetsch, Corrina (Austin) Elam, Mikayla Ratliff, Brock and Kennedy Sommers, and Kaily Wilson;
Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law, Stanley (Charlotte) Ehrke of Lester Prairie, MN, Glenn (Mary Jane) Ehrke of Winsted, MN, Judy Ehrke of Manning of SC, Marjorie (Steve) Longstreet of Little Falls, MN;
Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Leonard was preceded in death by his Wife, Ruth Lange; Parents, Arnold and Esther Lange; Sisters, Sylvia Jungclaus and her husband, Mel, JoAnn Lilienthal, and Evonne Mueller; Nephew, Ryan Mueller; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Maynard and Rosella Ehrke.
