Service Information
Leota Porath, age 96, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at her residence in Hutchinson.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 27, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Hutchinson. Interment will be in the Cosmos Community Cemetery.
A visitation will be held Sunday, November 26, 2017, from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. and Monday morning from 8:00 - 9:00 A.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at the Church.
Obituary
Leota Linda Porath was born on January 11, 1921, in Sac County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Roy and Paula (Krohn) Sanders. Leota was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Varina, Iowa, and was a graduate of the Varina Consolidated School. Leota was raised on her family farm in Iowa.
Leota was united in marriage to Charles (Jack) Porath. This marriage was blessed with three children, Judy, Bob, and Nancy. Leota and Charles resided in Varina, Iowa, and later moved to Cosmos, Minnesota in 1956. They shared 45 years of marriage until Charles passed away in 1983.
Leota was a loving wife and homemaker to her husband and children. Leota was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Hutchinson.
Leota enjoyed needle crafting, sewing, and she loved playing cards. She also enjoyed going to her cabin on Lake Erie and fishing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends.
Leota passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at her residence in Hutchinson, at the age of 96 years.

Leota is preceded in death by her Parents, Roy and Paula Sanders; Husband, Charles (Jack) Porath; Daughter, Rebecca Porath; Siblings, Lee (Rene) Sanders, Lela Sanders, Jane Sanders, Dean Sanders, Leah Sanders, Henry (Ruth) Sanders, Vern (Buelah) Sanders, Glen (LaVonne) Sanders, Paul Sanders, and Luella (Don) Sanders.
