Obituary

Levi Cesario James Gonzales was born on September 1, 1991, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was the son of Blas and Mary (Vortherms) Gonzales. He was baptized as an infant at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Glendale, Arizona. He received his education at Hutchinson Public Schools. Growing up, Levi was a member of the Shotokan Karate club from the age of 6 to 17 and achieved his black belt certification at the age of 16. Although Levi could never quite figure out how to make bread for his mom in the microwave when he was little, he grew up to be a great cook and enjoyed trying new recipes in the kitchen with his fiancé Tyfany. Levi was also a big gamer, as him and his little brother grew up playing video games since the day he got his Nintendo 64. Levi especially enjoyed sharing his love of gaming with Tyfany as they would play together and tag team to advance in the games. They also enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons with their friends.

Levi loved the Avenger movies, and he taught his boys about all the superheroes while they watched every movie and played every game. He loved the DC characters too. For those that don’t know either, just ask any one of his boys and they will teach you everything their daddy taught them.
Levi had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He once handed his sister a random post card that had come in the mail as his mom was sorting though it that said singles looking to mingle and then said, “this must be for you”. Levi was so smart witted and charismatic that everyone that ever met him loved him and he loved all of them. His family, his cousins, his aunts and uncles, and his friends. He loved all of you.

Most of all, Levi loved his 4 boys. Landon, Ben, Gabe, and Kai. Whether it was taking them to the park, jumping on the trampoline, singing and dancing with them, nerf gun wars, kayaking, reading to them, or just listening to their stories or how their day went, he loved being with his boys.

Levi’s song, from the day his dad found out his mom was pregnant, was The Obvious Child by Paul Simon and Levi truly was the obvious child. We love you monkey.

Levi is survived by his
Fiancé Tyfany Wehmeyer of Hutchinson, MN;
Children Landon Jon Baysinger-Gonzales, Benjamin David Michel, Gabriel Gregorio Gonzales, and Kai Phoenix Gonzales of Hutchinson, MN;
Parents, Blas and Mary (Vortherms) Gonzales of Hutchinson, MN;

    I am so sorry! I can’t believe it’s real. My own son Levi Adams passed the same way. My heart goes out to his mother Mary and son Landon as well as Levi’s father, other children and girlfriend. Levi will always be remembered by our family. He was a great guy and deserved to live. His life mattered!

    Dearest Blas
    Our hearts ache for the loss of yours and Mary’s child. The only consolation is knowing that he lived a full life with his sons. We r sorry we never got to meet him. Also sorry we can’t make the funeral.

    I got the chance to work with Levi at Menards. He was one of the guys in the Plumbing department at the time I first started and during my orientation, he did the little tour portion of the department. He was always very nice and helpful. I was so shocked hearing this sad news. He will be greatly missed. To Tyfany, his other family and friends, may the power and strength of God hold you all in His hands and carry you through this difficult time. RIP, Levi.
