Obituary

Lillian Marion Nemitz was born on June 10, 1931, in Hassan Valley Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Henry and Ida (Minks) Nemitz. Lillian was baptized as an infant on July 5, 1931, by Pastor Becker at the family farm and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on October 29, 1944, by Pastor Robert Happel at St. John’s United Church of Christ near Biscay, Minnesota. She received her education in Hutchinson, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1949.

Lillian resided in rural Hutchinson and assisted her brother, Erwin, with the farming operation. She retired in 1983. Later she and her sister, Irene, moved to Hutchinson in 1997. They were loving adopted grandmothers to Kathryn Goldsmith, who brought much joy to their lives. They helped care for her as an infant to approximately age 7.
