Linda S. Ortloff

Obituary

Linda Susan Ortloff was born on June 4, 1954, in Chula Vista, California. She was the daughter of Soren Jr. and Betty (Nelson) Petersen. Linda was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Chula Vista. She received her education in Chula Vista and was a graduate with the Hill Top High School Class of 1972.

On December 13, 1975, Linda was united in marriage to Dale Ortloff at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waseca, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with three children, Jason, Ryan and Dustin. Linda and Dale resided in Waseca before making their home in Hutchinson, Minnesota, in 1987. They shared 48 years of marriage.

Linda was employed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hutchinson as a cook for the school for 20 years and then worked at the church daycare. She retired in 2019. Linda was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

Linda maintained a loving home and was a devoted and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She made it a point to know what each of her children and grandchildren enjoyed. Always making every effort to stay connected. Which included attending their various activities such as: sporting events, dance recitals and concerts. She cherished the time she had to spend with her family. Linda had a love for animals that started in her youth and continued her whole life through, as she was seldom without a pet in her home. Although she lived in Minnesota for the majority of her life, her favorite place to visit was California to spend time with her family and to be by the ocean.

Linda passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, at the age of 70 years old.

Linda is preceded in death by her Parents, Soren Jr. and Betty Petersen; Brother, Wayne Petersen; Mother-in-law, Arliss Ortloff.
