Lloyd “Butch” Carlson Jr., age 71, of Norwood Young America, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017, from 3:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M.
Obituary
Lloyd “Butch” John Carlson Jr. was born on July 27, 1945, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was the son of Lloyd and Audrey (Goetke) Carlson. Lloyd was baptized as an infant in Lawton, Oklahoma, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Excelsior, Minnesota. He received his education in Excelsior, Minnesota.
Lloyd married Gretchen Schultz and together they had three daughters, Susan, Joy and Kay. They made their home in Belle Plaine, Minnesota. Later, Lloyd was blessed with his son, Jon. He loved to bowl and did a lot of racing with his brothers and friends at Raceway in Shakopee.
Lloyd loved driving truck and made it his career all of his life. He enjoyed telling many, many stories about the places he’s been and the things he’s seen while on the road, but above trucking, his greatest joy in his life were his grandchildren. Lloyd loved spending time with them, going to their baseball, football and basketball games and giving directions to his special granddaughter who loves to travel.
Lloyd passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 1 day.
