Service Information
Lloyd Franck, age 95, of Norwood Young America, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018, at Good Samaritan Society in Waconia, Minnesota.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bongards, Minnesota with interment at a later date.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018, from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M., 2 hours prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
Obituary
Lloyd Peter Franck was born on October 2, 1922, at his home in Benton Township, Carver County, Minnesota. He was the son of William and Frieda (Bartels) Franck. Lloyd was baptized as an infant and later was confirmed in his faith as a youth at Evangelical Zion-Snappsburg Church near the family farm in Benton Township. He received his education thru the 8th grade at District #29 School in rural Norwood Young America, Minnesota.
On February 21, 1952, Lloyd was united in marriage to Donna Mae Kamann at St. John’s Evangelical Reform Church in Bongards. Lloyd and Donna made their home on the family farm in rural Norwood and later moved into Norwood Young America. Their marriage was blessed with six children: Kim, Sandra, Richard, Julie, Jill and Nancy. Lloyd and Donna shared over 66 years of marriage.
Lloyd was a lifelong farmer. After retirement, he enjoyed helping with field work and driving the tractor. He was an active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bongards, where he served on the church board as a deacon and elder. Lloyd was also on the town board for Benton Township.
Lloyd enjoyed playing cards, especially playing Skat with his friends at Last Call. He had the perfect cribbage hand and received a first place trophy at the Skat Tournament of Champions. He also enjoyed hunting and received great joy driving around checking out the crops in the fields. He was an avid fisherman which led him to being a great fishing “guide”. He treasured the time spent with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lloyd went to his eternal home on Friday, April 13, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society in Waconia, Minnesota, at the age of 95 years, 6 months and 11 days.

Oh my, I just found out about Lloyds passing. He and Donna just crossed my mind yesterday as I approached NYA. I wish I would have known he had passed, I would have been there to share in your sorrow and celebrate the life of a most wonderful person. You are in my thoughts and prayers and I share in your sorrow.
