Obituary
Loren was born on June 18, 1940, in New Ulm, Minnesota, to Paul and Alma (Lilienthal) Sievert. He was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Gibbon, MN. Loren graduated from Gibbon High School in 1958.
He proudly served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962, receiving an honorable discharge.
On June 30, 1961, Loren married Beverly A. Smith at Fort Lewis, Washington. The couple was blessed with three children, Paul, Christine, and Cathy. Loren and Beverly shared over 64 years of marriage.
Loren and Beverly returned to Minnesota in 1962, where he worked for 3M in New Ulm, Minnesota, for more than 33 years. His true passion, however, was buying junk and selling antiques—a vocation he joyfully pursued for more than 50 years.
Despite facing significant health challenges over the past four decades, Loren met each day with courage, resilience, and a positive outlook. His deep faith in God brought him comfort, and he knew every day was a gift from God. When asked how he was doing, his signature reply was always, “I’m hanging in there.”
Loren is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Sievert; children, Paul Sievert (wife, Gina), Christine Jackson, and Cathy Dussik (husband, David); grandchildren, Timothy and Ashley Elsner, Katelyn (Dussik) and Adam Brewer, Christian Dussik, Paul and Majkya Sievert, and Anna Sievert; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Elsner-Calvin, and Abigail Elsner.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Alma Sievert; siblings, Joanne Dreier, Eunice Janicke, and Charles Sievert; and son-in-law, Robert Jackson Jr.
