Service Information
Lorraine L. Briese, age 91, of Hutchinson, Minnesota passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Harmony River Living Center.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at the Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with interment in the Oakland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 26, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. and will continue Monday from 8:00 – 9:00 A.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Lorraine Lucille (Lewin) Briese was born April 25, 1925, in Grafton Township, Sibley County. She was the daughter of Otto and Ella (Patzold) Lewin. Lorraine was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart, Minnesota. She received her education in Sibley County and later graduated from Stewart High School.
On October 12, 1943, Lorraine was united in marriage to LeRoy Briese at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart. For over 30 years LeRoy and Lorraine made their home at their farm in rural Gibbon, MN. In 1975 they moved to rural Hutchinson, where they lived until LeRoy died in 1988. This marriage was blessed with four boys, Dwayne, Curtis, Kevin and Gary.
Lorraine was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She spent many years helping others as a Home Health Aid. Lorraine was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, playing cards, playing bingo and bowling. Lorraine treasured the time spent with her children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
When Lorraine needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident at Harmony River Nursing Home and passed away there on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at the age of 91 years old.

Daughter-In-Law, Lois Briese of Minnetonka, MN;
6 Grandchildren, Kelly Helgeson (Ardean), Cory Briese (Kara), Jackie Ruzicka (Dean), Kristie Dustin (Eric), Jason Briese and Jeremy (Tracy) Briese;
12 Great Grandchildren; Reylin Lien(Charles) , Macayla, Mackenzie and Mackenna Helgeson, Mya, Mason and Merrik Briese, Dylan and Peighton Ruzicka, Parker, Kennedie and Chase Dustin;
Nieces, Nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her Parents, Otto and Ella Lewin, Husband, LeRoy Briese, Sons, Curtis and Kevin Briese, Siblings, Leonard, Leona and LuElla Lewin.
