Lorraine M. Meier, age 96, of Glencoe, formerly of Brownton, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 13, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart, Minnesota, with interment following in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 13, 2018, from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M., for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Lorraine Martha (Zieman) Meier was born on May 14, 1922, in Collins Township, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Fred and Minna (Brede) Zieman. She was a sister to Elsie, Elmer, and Jeanette. She was baptized and later confirmed in her faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota. Lorraine attended country school in Collins Township.
On November 2, 1951, Lorraine was united in marriage to Delmar Meier at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. Delmar and Lorraine were dairy farmers. They farmed north of Stewart before purchasing the Hesse farm about 5 miles south of Brownton. Lorraine and Delmar shared 44 years of marriage, until Delmar passed away on December 17, 1995.
Lorraine’s life was centered on her faith, family, and farming.
In 1996, Lorraine moved to an apartment in Hutchinson and when she needed assistance with her daily care she moved to Grand Meadows in Glencoe. In recent years she was a resident at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care. She passed away there on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the age of 96 years, 3 months and 25 days.

Lorraine is survived by her Sister, Jeanette Exsted and her husband, Harry of Glencoe;
Sister-in-law, Delores Rennecke and her husband, Harris of Brownton;
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her Husband, Delmar; Parents, Fred and Minna Zieman; Sister, Elsie Ranzau and her husband, Ed; Brother, Elmer Zieman and his wife, Estella; Parents-In-Law, Gustav and Emma Meier; Brothers-in-law, Arnold Meier and his wife, Elsie, Art Meier and his wife, Lourine, Harold Meier and his wife, Ruth, Floyd Meier and his wife, Ramona.
