Obituary
Louis “Louie” Ronald Dammann, age 83, of Lester Prairie, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2025. Born on May 13, 1941, in Lester Prairie to Arthur and Lorena (Gennrich) Dammann, Louie’s life was deeply rooted in the values of faith, family, and hard work. Baptized and later confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, his early years were shaped by a close-knit community, a loving family, and the rhythms of rural life.
Louie attended Bergen Parochial Country School and graduated with the Lester Prairie High School class of 1959, where he developed a lifelong passion for sports and competition. Following high school, he honorably served in the US National Guard until 1966, embodying a spirit of service and dedication that would define his life’s work. On July 16, 1966, Louie married Leaette Lundstrom at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and together they built a home and a family on their farm south of Lester Prairie, raising five sons: Mark, Chris, Paul, Bryan, and Jeremy.
A man of remarkable work ethic and integrity, Louie was self-employed as both a general contractor and a farmer for 54 years. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he built within the community. Louie was an active and devoted member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where he served as trustee, elder, and choir member. His faith and service to his church were central to his identity, and he found great joy in singing, worshiping, and working side-by-side with congregants on church events.
Louie’s family was his greatest earthly joy and passion. He was a devoted husband to Leaette for 48 years until her passing in 2015, and his steadfast care for her during her illness was a testament to his deep love and selflessness. Louie cherished attending his sons’ and grandchildren’s activities, rarely missing a game or event, and became known for his homemade chocolate chip cookies and his infectious, uplifting laugh. His energetic and cheerful nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Louie’s legacy is one of faith, family, and service. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, grandchildren, sister, significant other Lea Ette Peters, and a wide circle of extended family and friends. His memory will forever live on in the lives he touched and the values he instilled.

Walt and Lynne Clay says
Our dear Louie, Rest In Peace.
To the Dammann Family, Lynne and I are so sorry for your loss of a wonderful Father and Grandfather and to your whole family.
Our memories of his wonderful laugh and away very caring nature about work and life and caring about others.
We were very fortunate to have met Louie and have him do so many building projects for us for many, many years. He was always so proud of
his skill and knowledge to build wonderful things. My memory of never a cross word between the two of us in all those years and always, just a hand shake was our contract on every project! That was the trust that we both had for one another.
We know he is in Heaven and laughing and seeing his dear wife and so many of his friends.
We will miss our many telephone calls that we have had after retirement.
Cheers and our love Louie,
Walt and Lynne Clay
