Service Information
Lucille Burghart, age 95, of Hutchinson, (formerly of Sleepy Eye) passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Funeral Services will be Monday at 10:00 A.M., at Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hutchinson with interment in Fort Ridgely Cemetery in Camp Township, rural Fairfax.
Visitation will be Sunday, 5:00 -7:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the service on Monday ALL at church.
Obituary
Lucille Virginia Burghart was born on December 15, 1920, in Eden Township, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Henry and Christine (Nelson) Battig. Lucille was baptized as an infant, at the Lutheran Church in Evan, Minnesota, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Sleepy Eye. On July 4, 1943, she chose to be publicly baptized confessing her faith and joining the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Morgan, Minnesota. She received her education in Sleepy Eye, and was a graduate of the Sleepy Eye High School Class of 1938. Lucille furthered her education at Mankato State College in Mankato, Minnesota, for two years and received the Teachers Certificate.
On October 25, 1941, Lucille was united in marriage to Orville Burghart at the Court House in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with five children, Judith, Beverly, David, Ramona and Lois. Lucille and Orville resided near Sleepy Eye where they farmed for many years and later moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota in 1970. They shared 63 years of marriage until Orville passed away on November 13, 2004.
Lucille was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She taught country school in Evan, Minnesota for two years. Lucille was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hutchinson.
Lucille enjoyed traveling, sewing, quilting, canning and tending to her flower gardens. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
When Lucille needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident of Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, Minnesota, on May 13, 2015. She passed away there on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at the age of 95 years.

Brother, David Battig and his wife, Shirley of Buffalo, MN;
Many Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lucille is preceded in death by her Parents, Henry and Christine Battig; Husband, Orville Burghart.
