Lucille Smykalski, age 78, wife of the late Richard “Ski” Smykalski, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Woodstone Senior Living in Hutchinson, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson with interment in the St. Anastasia Catholic Church Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2018, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., one hour prior to the service at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.
Memorials are preferred to the Heart of Minnesota Animal Shelter, 880 Century Ave SW, Hutchinson, MN 55350.
Obituary
Lucille Margaret Smykalski was born on December 2, 1939, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Charles and Mary Rose (McNellis) Putney. She received her education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1957.
On June 28, 1958, Lucille was united in marriage to Richard “Ski” Smykalski at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with one daughter, Karri. Lucille and Richard resided in Hutchinson their entire marriage. They shared 58 years of marriage together until Richard passed away on November 28, 2016.
Lucille was employed as a maintenance coordinator at 3M in Hutchinson for 39 years which she was extremely proud of. She was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson.
Lucille loved animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed walking and spending time with dogs. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
When Lucille needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident at Woodstone Senior Living in Hutchinson in September of 2016. She passed away there on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the age of 78 years.

Lucille is preceded in death by her Husband, Richard “Ski” Smykalski; Parents, Charles and Mary Rose Putney; Brothers, Norman Putney, Bob Putney, Roger Putney, Walley Putney, and Wayne Putney; Sister, Dorthy Stafne; Fur Baby, Socks; and Fur Grand Puppy, Abby.
