Obituary

Lynn Louise Pinske was born 15 minutes after her twin sister Lora on December 1, 1953, to Pete and Arlene Pinske. Lynn was baptized at St. John’s in Plato and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. She spent her childhood years enjoying small town life in Plato, surrounded by relatives. The family moved to Gaylord where Lynn graduated from high school. She earned her B.A. in Sociology at Gustavus Adolphus College and her Masters of Social Work at the University of Minnesota. Lynn was a social worker for St. Louis County for many years.

Lynn served as a President of the Association of University Women and also a Secretary of the Minnesota Social Services Association. She was proud to be a Girl Scout leader for eight years, served on the board of directors, and was given a life-time membership in the Girl Scout Movement in the United States.

Lynn loved the outdoors, especially camping, the BWCA, and traveling. She was a super auntie and sister and a wonderful friend.

Lynn is survived by her:

Mother: Arlene (Bartels) Pinske;
Siblings, David (Cathy) Pinske, Lora (Gregg) Sunder, Paulette (Mark) Lenz, Ned (Lezlie) Pinske, step-children Deb Halenbeck and Scott Halenbeck, 10 nieces and nephews whom she considered her own and 12 grand nieces and nephews.

Lynn was preceded in death by her father, Edward “Pete” Pinske.

    Laura and family. I am very sorry to hear of Lynn’s passing. You and she were so welcoming to me in the early years and so kind during that horrible time of the fire. I can’t imagine how hard it is to lose a sister and especially a twin. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
