Service Information
Mae Johnson, age 89, of Litchfield, formerly of Cosmos, Minnesota, passed away Monday, June 18, 2018, at the Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center in Litchfield.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 21, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Cosmos, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday beginning at 10:00 A.M., for one hour prior to the service, all at Church.
Obituary
Mae Johnson was born May 10, 1929 in Biscay, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry and Minnie (Spear) Raske. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Church in Biscay. Mae graduated from the Litchfield High School with the Class of 1946.
On February 14, 1953, Mae was united in marriage to Orville Johnson at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cosmos Township. This union was blessed with eight children. Mae and Orville lived and raised their family on the family homestead farm, and were engaged in farming. They had shared nearly 50 years of marriage when Orville passed away on June 25, 2002.
Mae was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cosmos Township, and taught Sunday School. She kept busy on the farm, and enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was an avid reader, and liked to do crafts. Bird watching was also a favorite pastime, and she enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins baseball games. Mae loved her family, and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mae lived the last few years of her life at the Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center. She passed away there early Monday morning, June 18, 2018, having reached the age of 89 years. Blessed be her memory.

12 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren;
Brother, Melvin Raske of Cosmos;
Brother-in-law, Merrill Johnson and his wife Donna of Hutchinson;
nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Mae was preceded in death by her Parents, Henry and Minnie Raske; Spouse, Orville Johnson; infant Son, Daniel; Siblings: Lena (Louis) Schwarze, Kate (Alvin) Schwarze, Henrietta (Oliver) Schwarze, Hilda (Laurence) Schwarze, Harold Raske, Herman (Dorothy) Raske, and Earl Raske.
