Marcella Cohrs, age 101, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society in Arlington, Minnesota.
Funeral/Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2020, 11:00 A.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following at the First Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Walk Thru Picture Memorial will be held Saturday, June 13, 2020, from 10:00-11:00 A.M., one hour prior the service at the church.

Obituary
Marcella Artis “Rennecke” Cohrs was born on May 2, 1918, at home on the farm south of Brownton, Minnesota. She was the second of seven children born to Otto and Emma (Bulau) Rennecke. Marcella was baptized as an infant on May 26, 1918, by Pastor Henry Weerts at German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota, and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 29, 1931, by Pastor Henry Weerts at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota. Her confirmation verse was John 15:5. Marcella received her education in Brownton, Minnesota, attending Grades 1-6 at District #78 country school, Grades 7-8 at Brownton Lutheran School and Grades 9-10 at Brownton Public School. She had to quit school to go to work on the family farm.
On November 22, 1945, Marcella was united in marriage to Vernon LeRoy Cohrs by Pastor Gebhard Schmidt at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota. Marcella and Vernon made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Richard Darroll. Marcella and Vernon shared 39 years of marriage, until Vernon passed away on April 19, 1985.
In the early years, Marcella worked on her family farm and helped neighbors by cleaning their homes. After that she worked at Haugen Grocery in Brownton; Spiering’s Café in Gaylord; Steinberg Bakery, Victory Café and Strutwear Inc. in Glencoe; and Edco Sewing in Winsted. Then in 1961, she started working at Telex Communications in Glencoe until July 8, 1994, when she retired. She was an active member at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, where she sang in the church choir. Marcella was also a member of the Glencoe VFW Auxiliary Post #5102.
Marcella enjoyed pull tabs and polka dancing. She danced 12 polkas on her 100th birthday. Marcella also loved taking vacations, which included Rainbow Lodge, Red Barn Resort, Linwood Resort, Florida trips on the KDUZ Twins Baseball tours and polka band tours. She treasured the time spent with her family and friends.
Marcella passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society in Arlington, Minnesota, at the age of 101 years, 10 months and 15 days. Blessed be her memory.

Sister, Vera Wacker of Hutchinson, MN;
Brother, Harris Rennecke of Brownton, MN;
Nieces, Nephews, Other relatives and many friends.
Marcella was preceded in death by her Parents, Otto and Emma Rennecke; Husband, Vernon Cohrs; Sisters, Luella Dawson, Doloris Bartels; Brothers, Howard Rennecke, Victor Rennecke.
