Marcella (Mrs. Norbert) Fiecke, 86, formerly of Lester Prairie, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 29, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, Minnesota, with a private family interment at the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Friday, December 29, 2017, from 9:00-11:00 A.M., two hours prior the service at the church.
Obituary
Marcella M. (Mrs. Norbert) (Molva) Fiecke was born on November 2, 1931, in Glencoe, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Joseph and Emily (Bednar) Molva. She received her education attending District #29 country school for Grades 1-6 and then Glencoe High School for Grades 7-12 graduating with the Class of 1949. Marcella excelled in geography and spelling. She spoke fondly of her adventures competing in spelling bees. After graduation, Marcella worked as a seamstress at Strutwear, a clothing manufacturer in Glencoe.
Marcella M. Molva married Norbert J. Fiecke on January 20, 1951, at St. George Catholic Church in Glencoe. Marcella and Norbert made their home in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. They counted among their blessings 6 children, 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Marcella and Norbert shared over 55 years until Norbert passed away on June 24, 2006. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Marcella worked as the office manager with Norbert in their trucking business until their retirement in 1992.
Family is what Marcella enjoyed most, our traditional family Christmas party, Halloween Sunday, fishing on the pontoon, the family pets and visiting with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. With her grandchildren, Marcella planned cooking/baking days and pajama party sleepovers. She was an avid seamstress, sewing clothes, quilts and pillows for her children and grandchildren. Marcella’s incredible sewing skills continue as they have been passed on to her children and grandchildren.
Marcella passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, Minnesota, at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 21 days.
