Margaret “Marge” Farrell, age 80, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at her home in Glencoe.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 23, 2025, 10:30 A.M. at the Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe with interment in the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe and will continue 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Prayer Service will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 6:30 P.M. at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel.
Obituary
Margaret "Marge" Elizabeth (Muelken) Farrell was born on August 11, 1944, in Shakopee, MN. She was the third child of Clarence and Ethel (Kaufenberg) Muelken. Marge was baptized as an infant at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Credit River, MN. Her First Communion took place at All Saints Catholic Church in Lakeville, MN. She was later confirmed in her faith as a youth at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Credit River, MN. Marge attended school in Lakeville, MN, and graduated with the Lakeville High School Class of 1962.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth "Ken" Farrell on June 8, 1963, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Prior Lake, MN. They shared over 58 years of marriage before Ken passed away on October 13, 2021. They were blessed with four sons: Todd, Tim, Ted, and Troy. Marge was a selfless, loving wife and mother who enjoyed taking care of others. In August 1972, she gave one of her kidneys to her youngest son, Troy, and was blessed with another 10 years of his love.
Marge was employed by the Glencoe-Silver Lake School District as a para/Special Education teacher in Glencoe, MN. She enjoyed working with children and retired in June of 2010. She was an active member of the Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, MN, and also a longtime member of the Glencoe American Legion Auxiliary. She was currently active in fundraising efforts, such as selling poppies.
Marge enjoyed many activities, including reading, playing cards, casino trips with her siblings, volunteering wherever she could, meeting up with friends for coffee, and of course, shopping. Time spent with family and loved ones was what she cherished most.

Sons: Todd Farrell of Bloomington, MN; Tim Farrell of Glencoe, MN; and Ted Farrell of Hutchinson, MN;
Grandchildren: Misty (Karsten) Nordby, Crystal (Brent) Wren, Tricia (Aaron) Ackerson, Hailey Farrell, and Drew Hanke;
14 Great-grandchildren;
Siblings: Bev Schmitz; Tom (Carol) Muelken; Pat (Larry) Caduff; Jean Marsh; and Linda Platt;
Sisters-in-law: Charlotte Farrell, Barb Muelken, and Marilyn Sexton;
Many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Marge is preceded in death by her husband, Ken Farrell; Son, Troy Farrell; Daughter-in-law, Becky Farrell; Parents, Clarence and Ethel Muelken; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Leonard and Alice Farrell; Brothers: Terry Muelken and Jeff Muelken;
Brothers-in-law: Dick Schmitz, John Sexton, and Bob Farrell.
