Service Information
Marian P. Retzlaff, age 90, of Cedar Mills Township, rural Litchfield, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at her home.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills Township, with interment in church cemetery.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Marian Phyllis Retzlaff was born on September 5, 1935, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Edward and Hattie (Miller) Bach. Marian was baptized as an infant at the family home, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. She received her education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1953.
On August 31, 1963, Marian was united in marriage to Floyd Retzlaff at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills. Marian and Floyd resided in St. Louis Park, Minnesota for 10 years before making their home in rural Litchfield. Marian and Floyd enjoyed wintering in Arizona. They shared 59 years of marriage prior to the passing of Floyd on May 28, 2023.
Marian was employed as a secretary, bank teller, and later at Hutchinson Health in Medical Records. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Mary Martha Group. Marian served on the Cedar Mills Town Board for many years. In her younger years, she was a member of St. John’s Youth Group and 4-H.
Marian enjoyed flowers, helping with farmwork, cutting wood with Floyd, and playing board games, especially “Frustration”. She also enjoyed traveling, fishing, bowling, listening to old-time music, and dancing. Marian cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Marian passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at her home, at the age of 90 years.

Marian is survived by many cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Marian is preceded in death by her Parents, Edward and Hattie Bach; Husband, Floyd Retzlaff; Brother, Gail Bach.

Marion , served on the Cedar Mills Township Board many years. Remembering the winter home meetings. The usual Township business, then the fellowship with goodies followed. She was focused on the business part of those meetings. Our sympathy to her friends , specially Roger and Phyllis.
