Marie Carlson, age 107, of Winthrop passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at GlenFields Living With Care in Glencoe.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, January 4, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be Saturday, January 4, 2024, from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. (1 hour prior), ALL at the Funeral Chapel.
Obituary
Marie Carlson was born on February 3, 1917, in Green Isle, Minnesota. She was the daughter of John and Amalia (Trebelhorn) Riedel. Marie was baptized as an infant at a Lutheran Church in Green Isle and was confirmed in her youth at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord. She received her education in Gaylord and was a graduate of the Gaylord High School Class of 1935.
In 1940 Marie married Burton Mallory. They were blessed with one Daughter, MaryJean. He passed away in 1943.
On August 1, 1952, Marie married Floyd Lidberg. She was employed at the Winthrop State Bank for 17 years. Marie and Floyd shared 19 years of marriage, when he passed away on November 22, 1971.
On January 7, 1978, Marie married Wilton Carlson. Marie and Wilton shared many wonderful trips to Alaska, the Scandinavian countries and wintered in Arizona. They shared 29 years of married when he passed away on October 2, 2007.
Marie enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, gardening especially flowers, reading, cooking and entertaining and enjoyed trying out new recipes, and she spent 22 winters in Arizona. She cherished the time she spent with her family.
When she needed assistance with her care, Marie became a resident of GlenFields Living With Care in Glencoe and passed away there on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the age of 107 years. Blessed be her memory.

Brother, Fred “Fritz” Riedel of Hot Springs, SD;
Step-daughter, Pat Olson and her husband, Ken;
Step-grandchildren, Andrew Olson and his wife, Joan, Matthew Olson and his wife, Callie;
Step-great-grandchildren, Oliver and Lincoln;
Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marie was preceded in death by her Parents, John and Amalia Riedel; Husbands, Burton Mallory, Floyd Lidberg and Wilton Carlson; Siblings, John Riedel, George (Dora) Riedel, Henry (Hertha) Riedel, Katherine (Harvey) Solmonson, William (Lillian) Riedel, Benjamin Riedel, Edward (Marilyn) Riedel, Peter Riedel in infancy, Margaret (Norman) Jungclaus, Ann (Ray) Klockman.
