Service Information
Marilyn C. Hahn, age 87, of Gaylord passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at the Benedictine Living Center in St. Peter.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 31, 2024, 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sibley Township, Sibley County, Minnesota, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, All at the church.
Obituary
Marilyn Clara Louise Hahn was born on July 10, 1937, in New Auburn, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Alfred and Alma (Hahn) Alsleben. Marilyn was baptized as an infant on July 25, 1937, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 18, 1951, by Pastor W.F. Mueller, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn. She received her education in New Auburn, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the New Auburn High School Class of 1955.
On September 2, 1959, Marilyn was united in marriage to Raymond Hahn at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Sibley Township, retiring in 2010, but they continued to live on the farm. Marilyn was a loving wife and homemaker. Marilyn and Ray shared 61 years of marriage when Ray passed away on August 26, 2021.
Marilyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley Township. She was very interested in church and activities.
Marilyn enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, was a great cook. Her nephew by marriage gave her a baby calf that she named Blackie and she enjoyed caring for her calf by feeding it, petting it and tending to it every day. Marilyn and Ray did everything together, such as going to town and grocery shopping, attending social events, and gardening, whether weeding, watering and harvesting and the canning and preservation of the garden produce. Farm work and chores were shared together. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
When Ray and Marilyn needed assistance with their daily care, the couple moved into Oak Terrace in Gaylord, which then became Bayside Manor. After Ray passed away, Marilyn transferred to Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter for assistance with her daily care. Marilyn passed away there on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at the age of 87 years old. Blessed be her memory.
Marilyn is survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her Parents, Alfred and Alma Alsleben; Husband, Raymond Hahn; Sister and Brother-in-law, Elaine and Duane Bussler.
