Obituary

Marilyn Joy Stevens was born on April 14, 1954, in Pierre, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Robert and Beverly (Leske) Mahutga. Marilyn was baptized as an infant at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harrold, South Dakota.

The family lived in Harrold, South Dakota, then moved to Eagle Bend, Minnesota, in 1965. Marilyn attended Eagle Bend School. She worked at Hart Press in Long Prairie, Minnesota, and Fingerhut in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. Marilyn then moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota, and worked at 3M for 35 years until she retired in 2010.

On January 15, 1977, Marilyn was united in marriage to Joseph Stevens at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with three children, daughters, Tara and Tiffany and a son, Sean. They shared 48 years of marriage. Marilyn joined and was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson.

Marilyn enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking on state trails taking pictures of nature on the way. She enjoyed training her German Shepherd, Lucca. Marilyn also liked tending to her flower gardens and feeding the birds. In her younger years, she loved riding her horse and snowmobiling. She loved most of all spending time with her family, grandkids and friends.

Marilyn was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer in January 2023. She passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at her home in Hutchinson, surrounded by family, at the age of 71 years.

Son, Sean Stevens and his wife, Hayley of Ashby, MN, and their children, Lochlann, Saoirse, Aoife and Tadhg;
Siblings, Cheryl Tepley and her husband, Frank of Browerville, MN,
Rita Tepley and her husband, Brian of Eagle Bend, MN,
Robert Mahutga Jr. of Eagle Bend, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her Parents, Robert and Beverly Mahutga.
