Obituary
Marjorie “Marge” Ann (Cederberg) Lindgren was born on May 11, 1932, in Oberlin, Kansas. She was the daughter of John and Edith (Glad) Cederberg. Marge was baptized as an infant in August of 1932, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth in August of 1946, both at Enne Lutheran Church in rural Herndon, Kansas. She was in the last eighth grade class to graduate from White Cloud country school before it closed in 1946. Marge graduated from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, with a degree in Christianity and Philosophy and a minor in Elementary Education and Music.
On June 12, 1954, Marjorie was united in marriage to Charles Lindgren by Reverend Carl Cederberg and Reverend Clifford Lindgren at Bethel (formerly Enne) Lutheran Church in Laing Township, Kansas. She taught at Edison Junior High School in Rock Island, Illinois, from 1954-1955. In July of 1955, she joined Charles in Germany until his discharge from the United States Army. While in Germany, she taught at the Army Officers Pre-School. While in Germany, her parents came to visit, and Marge and Charles joined them on a trip to Sweden.
Along with her husband, Chuck and their three children, they spent two and half years in Bolivia, South America, where they served as Missionaries under the World Mission Prayer League. In Bolivia, she assisted in teaching at the Bible School, especially music and giving lessons on the portable reed organ. She did a lot of substitute teaching, especially Junior and Senior High classes, in the communities where they were living. As Charles served as Pastor in the various rural Parishes in Wisconsin, South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska and Kansas. Marge worked alongside him assisting with the Secretarial, Music, Youth and Women’s Ministries. Marge served on the Red River Valley Synod Lutheran Church Women’s Board for three terms. She was elected to be a delegate at the National Constituting Convention of the WELCA held in Madison, Wisconsin, in June of 1987. She represented the LCW of South Dakota as co-chairman of the Constituting convention for the Women of the ELCA in South Dakota, and served on the training committee for the WELCA of South Dakota in 1987-1988. Marge has shared her talents in music by singing solos and in choirs, and also playing the piano or organ for many worship services, wedding and funerals. She and Chuck have also shared in singing many duets together in the congregations they have served. Marge has also served as Bible Study leader for many different groups where they were living.
Marge and Charles retired to a lake home they built in Hendricks, Minnesota, near Marshall, Minnesota. During retirement, Charles and Marge served in an interim capacity for multiple southwest Minnesota area congregations.
Marge enjoyed working on family history, music, reading and continued involvement in her church. She cherished the time she spent with her family.

Lisa Pilipenko says
I was so sad to hear about our precious Aunt Marge’s passing. Yes, we knew it was coming, but somehow it still was unexpected. Thanks be to God that she was surrounded by her beloved family! Big hugs and kleenex to all of you.
She was such a blessing to me. She taught me so much, from how to realign your knee to how to make Swedish Meatballs (the secret is to add a pinch of cloves). She also was an inspiration, showing her hospitality, and sharing her embroidery, sewing, and crocheting skills. And especially sharing her love of Jesus with me. I’ll always remember her singing and playing piano. And her laugh! She was so sweet. I loved the way she’d smile and laugh at my silly jokes. She always made me feel so welcome.
I was listening to the Christmas Carol “Oh Holy Night”. And the phrase: “For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn”, just jumped out and bit me. There it is! That’s her! That’s where she went. She’s in Jesus’ arms amidst the light of a new dawn, a beautiful and glorious morn full of love and peace; where she can hug Uncle Chuck, and Uncle John, and my mom Pauline and Grandma Edith and Grandpa John Walter. And she can finally be happy and not feel any pain anymore. She’s free.
We’ll miss you Aunt Marge. But we’re Glad you’re finally home.
