Obituary

Mark Charles O’Fallon was born on November 21, 1954 in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He was the beloved son of James and Lois (Manthei) O’Fallon and devoted husband to Kimberly O’Fallon.

Mark was the proud father of Melissa O’Fallon, Timothy (Jennifer) O’Fallon, and Nicole Topp. He took great joy in being a grandfather and is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Haley, Milayna, Carter, Emily, Ella, Chase, and Leah who brought immense happiness to his life.

Mark was a skilled carpenter, known for his craftsmanship and dedication to his work. He was also a pilot, taking great pride in flying and the joy it brought him. In addition, he shared his lifelong passion for history with others, often visiting museums and attending air shows.

Mark passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the age of 71, in his home, the place he loved. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and all the lives he touched. He was strong in his faith as he took his final flight, leaving behind a lifetime of love, craftsmanship, and quiet strength.

Mark is survived by his brother Gary O’Fallon (June) and his sister, Lorraine Peterson, along with extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Irene Goblirsch and his brother-in-law Lowell Peterson.

Sorry for your loss. I worked on jobs run by Mark over 20 years ago, but I have always remembered him as very professional with a good sense of humor. I always looked forward to working with him.

I guess we knew it was coming, but that doesn’t make it much easier. Buffalo Lake’s last fighter pilot (of WWI aircraft) has slipped the surly bonds of earth and now flies high. See you on the other side, Irish!

My parents, Otto & Ruby Milbrett, were neighbors to Mark until my Dad’s passing 22 years ago. But I remember that my Dad and Mark enjoyed their chats about life. Mark even bought one of his old tractors and restored it. Sorry to hear of Mark’s passing.
