Obituary

Mark Robert Henningson was born on May 10, 1978, at the Arlington Hospital in Arlington, Minnesota. He was the son of Milton and Linda (Stanley) Henningson. Mark was baptized at Bismarck Lutheran Church and later confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop, Minnesota. He received his education in Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop School, and was a graduate with the Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop High School class of 1996.

On May 1, 2004, Mark was united in marriage to Jodi DeVlaeminck at Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop. This marriage was blessed with three beautiful children, Alexis, Addison, and Asher. Mark and Jodi resided in Winthrop. They shared 18 years of marriage.

Mark worked for Bussler and Son Construction in Winthrop since high school. He recently was in the process of following in his dad’s footsteps and starting his own drywall company. Mark had an unbelievable talent in carpentry and a passion for building custom cabinetry. He could make any house a beautiful home and he made sure to teach his children his many skills along the way. Mark was a kind and loving person who always had a smirk on his face and a comment that was bound to make you laugh. His family and many friends meant the world to him, and he couldn’t wait to plan the next get together, vacation, or camping trip, and invite as many as he could.

Mark was an avid hunter and cherished the time he was able to hunt waterfowl or deer with his family. His proudest moments were being with his girls when they got their first deer, and he couldn’t wait to get his little boy out there. Mark was the best husband, dad, son, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed for his huge heart and kind soul.

Mark passed away, due to complications that arose from diabetes, on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 44 years.
