Service Information

Marlene B. Wilds, age 83, of Winnebago, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018, at Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord.

Funeral Service will be Friday, August 3, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord with interment in Rosehill Cemetery in Winnebago.

Visitation will be Friday, August 3, 2018, from 9:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at the church.

Obituary

Marlene Bertha Wilds was born on November 30, 1934, in Round Prairie, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Rudolph and Ida (Heidemann) Knaak. Marlene was baptized as an infant on December 16, 1934, at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Round Prairie, Minnesota, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 21, 1948, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman, Minnesota. She received her education in Winnebago and was a graduate of the Winnebago High School Class of 1952.

On June 1, 1952, Marlene was united in marriage to Donald Wilds at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Winnebago. After their marriage, the couple resided in Winnebago; moving to Trimont, Minnesota, in 1970 and back to Winnebago in 1981. After working at various jobs in Winnebago she worked as a Nurse’s Aid at the Trimont Nursing Home and the Baptist Home in Winnebago.

Marlene was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Winnebago and the Ladies Aid. She was a current member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord.

Marlene enjoyed ceramics, sewing, baking and cooking, baking Christmas cookies and helping out in the church circle. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to shop with her daughter’s.

When she needed assistance with the daily care, Marlene became a resident of Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord and passed away there on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at the age of 83. Blessed be her memory.

                        Lynette (Donald) Laue of Dunnell, MN,
                        Sandra (Marc) Crevier of Brookings, SD,
                        Donna (Fred Budd) Wilds of Northport, MI, and
                        Amy (Jerry) Hahn of Gaylord, MN;
Grandchildren, Jessie (James) Stark, Emily Wilds, David Wilds, Dinita (Steve) Steuber, Patsey Laue, Kelly (Kenny) Wilhite, Nathan Swanson, Mary (Brian) Lee, Cassie (Michael) Bernstein, Derek (Katie) Hahn, and Michelle (Kenton) Wise;
14 Great Grandchildren;
other relatives and friends.

Marlene was preceded in death by her Parents, Rudolph and Ida Knaak; Husband, Donald Wilds; Son, Steven Wilds; Grandson, Keith Wilds; Two infant grandsons; and Brother, Norman Knaak.
