Marvin L. Wendroth

Obituary

Marvin Lawrence Wendroth was born on March 8, 1926, in Litchfield, Minnesota. He was the son of Fred and Annie (Neuman) Wendroth. Marvin was baptized in his faith. He received his education in Litchfield, and was a graduate of the Litchfield High School Class of 1944.

In 1949, Marvin married Virginia Guishard. This marriage was blessed with two daughters, Jean and Shirlee. On August 30, 1967, he was united in marriage to Sonja Jensen. They made their home in Hutchinson, and had shared 35 years of marriage, until Sonja passed away on December 26, 2002.

Marvin was employed as a woodworker at Harris Pine in Hutchinson. He then spent 25 years as a school bus driver for Hutchinson Schools. He also drove truck for Kokesch Trucking in Hutchinson. Marvin was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hutchinson.

In his younger years, Marvin enjoyed taking his boat to Lake Marion and Lake Washington to water ski. There were always people willing to go along. He also loved riding his red Honda scooter with a group of friends. He even rode it to Chanhassen to a grandson’s wedding at age 86. He also enjoyed remodeling equipment and gardening. Marvin especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends.

When Marvin needed assistance with his daily care, he moved to Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson. He passed away there on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at the age of 92 years. It was 35 years to the day that his Father passed away.
