Obituary

MaryAnn Barbara Dummer was born on March 30, 1932, in Madison, Minnesota, to John and Anna (Schilmoeller) Henrich. She was baptized, celebrated her First Communion and confirmed at St. Michael's Church in Madison. MaryAnn went to St. Michael's Grade school and graduated from Madison Public High School in 1950. She babysat and also worked at the Dime store during High School. MaryAnn was active in school activities including cheerleading and was also the Salutatorian for her Senior class. After graduation she went to the U of M to become a Medical Lab Tech and interned at St. Joe's Hospital for half a year and then got a job in Olivia at the hospital and really enjoyed her work.

MaryAnn met Harley Dummer at a group gathering for Catholics over 18 and they went to lots of dances. They were united in marriage on April 4, 1959, at St. Michael's Church in Madison. She stopped working when she wanted to help Harley with farming and have children. MaryAnn was an active bowler especially after Harley built the bowling alley in Fairfax called Harley's Lanes. She bowled until she was 80 and went on many trips around the country with her team but never felt she was very good.

MaryAnn was an active member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax and helped at retreats throughout the diocese with the Diocese Retreat Team which was so rewarding for her. She served in different ministries in the church and was president and vice-president of the Diocesan Councils of Catholic Women. MaryAnn was very active in the community including the Legion Auxiliary and held high offices with them. She was chairman of the American Red Cross Blood Mobiles for many years and gave 125 pints of blood. MaryAnn helped with the Parkinson's support group for many years because of a friend that had the disease and that was very rewarding to her.

MaryAnn loved dancing, sewing, crocheting, baking, bowling, and reading, plus lawn mowing which she did on her riding mower until she was 90! Her all-time favorite times was being with family and friends playing cards of any kind and she was on some card clubs until December. She always was up for a game of Rummikub. MaryAnn was the most amazing Grandma and Great-Grandma (GG) to her 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. MaryAnn and Harley were always up for a road trip during the summer with us four kids in a rented RV to travel in. What an amazing and blessed 93 years she experienced!

Sibling, George (Katy) Henrich;
Sisters-in-law, Yvonne Henrich, Lorraine (Jerry) Kienlen, and Dianne Herdina;
plus, several nieces and nephews.
