Obituary
Mary Lou (Neid) Smoldt was born on March 22, 1957, in Brown County, Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Alois John and Lucille Ann (Matter) Neid. Mary was baptized as an infant at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth at Church of St. Pius X ink Glencoe, Minnesota. She received her education in Glencoe, Minnesota, graduating with the Glencoe High School Class of 1976.
On September 8, 1984, Mary was united in marriage to Louis Henry Smoldt, Jr. at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Glencoe, Minnesota. Mary and Louis made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Cecily and Angela. Mary and Louis shared over 36 years of marriage.
Mary worked at Starkey in Glencoe, Minnesota in the Shipping/Receiving Department. She was an active member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Glencoe, Minnesota. As her ministry to the church,
Mary enjoyed fishing, cruising in the convertible, going out with friends and traveling, especially to Vegas/Laughlin. Family was very important to her and she treasured the time spent with them and her friends.
Mary passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, Minnesota, at the age of 63 years, 8 months and 6 days.

Mary was preceded in death by her Parents, Alois and Lucille Neid.
